Groups

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) is a supportive community of individuals who come together to overcome their drinking problems. Participation in A.A. meetings is free, and there are no age or education requirements to join. Membership is open to anyone who wants to address their drinking and work towards sobriety.

A.A.’s main goal is to help alcoholics achieve and maintain sobriety.

Sex Addicts Anonymous

Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) offers hope to those struggling with sex addiction. Through painful experiences, many of us realized that we were powerless over our sexual thoughts and behaviors, leading to severe consequences for ourselves and our loved ones. Despite repeated efforts, we couldn’t stop on our own.

Attending SAA meetings helped us see that recovery is possible. We found support in others with similar stories and learned that we weren’t hopelessly defective. SAA’s recovery principles are based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, adapted to address sex addiction.

AI-Anon Family Groups

Our personal situations may differ, but we come together as equals in Al-Anon because we share a common experience: our lives have been impacted by someone else’s drinking. Al-Anon is a mutual support group where we find understanding by sharing our experiences with each other.

For some, a spouse or partner’s struggle with alcoholism brings them to Al-Anon. For others, it may be a parent, child, grandchild, sibling, or another relative or friend. Many of us have been affected by more than one alcoholic family member or friend.

Although our relationships with the alcoholic may vary, alcoholism has similar effects on us all. Newcomers often seek out stories that closely mirror their own situations, but over time, we learn that there is value in hearing how Al-Anon principles have helped in a wide range of circumstances.

Co-Dependents Anonymous

At some point, we started doubting our own perceptions, dismissing our feelings, and neglecting our needs. We began relying on others to tell us how to think, feel, and act. We let others define who we were and who we should be. Over time, being compliant or avoidant seemed more important than being true to ourselves, leading us to adopt rigid beliefs about how things “should be.” We believed that if we could just “get it right,” everything would be okay. But when we “got it wrong,” our sense of security and self-worth would vanish.

Gamblers Anonymous

Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength, and hope to help each other recover from gambling addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling, and there are no fees or dues; the group is self-supporting through donations. Gamblers Anonymous is not affiliated with any religious, political, or other organizations and focuses solely on helping individuals stop gambling and assist others in doing the same.

Many members initially struggled to admit they had a gambling problem, often believing they could regain control. However, they eventually recognized that they were compulsive gamblers, unable to control their gambling. This realization is the first step toward recovery. Gamblers Anonymous members understand that their condition is a progressive illness that worsens over time. To live healthy, fulfilling lives, they strive to practice certain principles in their daily lives, acknowledging that complete abstinence is essential for recovery.
